hi mark its steve(from the internet haha) just wanted to say a quick thankyou for helping me out with the lsa,its made me feel so much better about the future! i hope the research you gain from me helps others with this problem, i look forward to hearing from you and again i offer my sincere thanks, steve
I'm interested in this procedure as my sweating seems to come and go...but when it comes it comes!!
I have used topical solutions 'apply the night before etc' and see improvement sometimes but not others and I can have exactly the same daily routine but it differs.
Couple of thoughts I wonder if someone can help me with - if the underarm sweat glands are removed does that push the sweat elsewhere causing more sweating in other areas? Is it possible to get a general anaesthetic for this procedure as I;m not good with hospitals etc!!!
LSA would be useful as it reduces the number of sweat glands in the skin - so when your sub-conscious drives your glands to sweat, instead of the 100% that respond now, you will only have 20% left to respond - hence the reduction by 80%.
As your confidence grows, your sub-conscious stops driving the sweating and so you see further improvement over months and years.
There is no problem with the sweating goinf elsewhere - the amount being reduced is very small compared to the size of the body - please see the FAQ's on www.lasersweatablation.co.uk.
The procedure is best done under local anaesthetics as walk in walk out - but you can have some valium or other medication if you need it. However, the theatre staff are very friendly and most people chat throughout the procedure without havig any problems at all.
Hi - As the LSA is my modification of Dr Blugermans techique, then at the moment, I am the only person performing LSA. As i am in the UK I have not applied for FDA approval.
There are other doctors performing other techniques such as laser or retrodermal curettage - you will need to see what their results are to compare.

Is LSA FDA-approved in the United States?
